Suzan Mutesi Was a Vision in a Sculptural Red Gown at the 2023 TV Week Logie Awards

By  |

We love it when Suzan Mutesi steps out for an event because what she wears automatically becomes our next outfit obsession. The writer & actress donned a stunning custom sculptural gown by @lfjofficial dress for the TV Week Logie Awards.

The one-shoulder ensemble featured a high slit, and movable panels that gave it a unique silhouette as she posed for pictures. The dress’s front slit perfectly displayed the star’s footwear selection of the evening, a pair of red ankle-strap open toe stilettos.

For makeup, the beauty opted for her signature hairstyles, a slicked-back multiple braids with brushed-out curls and a gleaming complexion paired with a deep red glossy lip. Suzan accessorized with a pair of silver hop earrings and silver bracelets.

SatisfashionUg had a chat with Suzan’s stylist Collette Emily, here is what she had to say about the stunning ensemble:

1) What was the inspiration behind the look?

I was inspired by the incredible sculptured designs out of Paris Couture Fashion Week and wanted to bring that energy to Australia. I love creating a statement when styling my clients and wanted Suzan’s Logies look to be seen, noticed and remembered. I was very excited when I found Nigerian Designer Juliet Olanipekun of LFJ. The LFJ brand is described as “an artistic fashion brand which focuses on creating pieces that create an illusion of art in fashion” Julez and her team were the perfect fit to bring the vision to life! My intention is to always align my clients with designers who share the same energy and vibe.

2) How was the styling process?

When I came across LFJ designs I fell in love with the designer Julez bold approach to manipulating fabric, shapes and styles. I was amazed at her creativity. Her team and I discussed that we wanted something big, bold and unexpected. Suzan and I were both so excited when I saw the final design Julez had created. We chose red as it’s such a powerful, strong and impactful color. As the gown did all the talking, I wanted to highlight Suzan’s natural beauty by styling her hair in cornrows, complimented by a wing liner and power red lip. Suzan wore this look with such confidence and beauty. Her and this statement gown were a perfect red carpet fit. Very grateful for the love and support the look has received in press with Suzan being on multiple “best dressed” lists. My stylist heart is very happy.
