Style Ideas from Navio’s Trouble music video

Navio is arguably the biggest hip hop act in Uganda. They’ll all come and go but Navio has stood the test of time right from those Klear Kut days. His music videos are nothing far from this. He’s the kind of artiste who will go out of his way to risk his life just so that he’s music video is to perfection.

This music video is different from his usual stuff. It is not because his love interest in the video is former Miss Uganda Dorah Mwima; it’s also not because he chose to sing but it’s because of the art and over the top style choices. You notice that the lighting, colour coordination and fashion (which is our main interest) were all on point. The video is set in some rain forest and it’s where these two smitten lovers meet up. Let me run you through some of the style ideas we pick from this video.

Dorah is a hair expert (she owns a beauty parlour called D-SPOT)  so she knows a thing and two about hair. She chose to hold her hair into a straight ponytail with a fringe at the front. This is a very edgy hair do considering the fact that she was acting as this macho woman commanding a group of built men. She looked both sexy and powerful. No wonder Navio was swept off his feet.

Navio matches cargo shorts with a blue t shirt as he takes photos of his woman. Do you notice Dorah’s genius accessorizing?  She wears an arm bling and a chunky wrist band. There is no doubt Navio will never delete these images from his phone.

Dorah wears mild make up – just enough to keep her gorgeous skin glowing. The swelling on her cheek only makes her look more naturally beautiful. The dress is embellished with coloured pearls and these work perfectly without the necklace. She kept away from any other accessories  looked angelic.

Navio in a blue shirt with sleeves up and buttons down rapping next to a a bikini clad Dorah. The style idea here is that: With a coloured formal shirt, you can pull off a casual look. If she drags you out of the office straight to the beach you do not need change into casual clothes. All you need to do is fold your sleeves up and get to business. You shouldn’t keep such a hot woman waiting!

This is probably the best scene in the video. The all black affair was magical. Rapper JB returned his over sized shirts however but it isn’t too criminal to kill the scene. It seems JB’s signature look is ‘over sized clothes’! The rest of the crew  looks every bit casual smart while having a light conversation. Dorah, the queen of the evening looks regal in her black one arm sleeveless dress. Single arm dresses are back on vogue with celebs such as Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian rocking them on the red carpet every now and then. She glams up her look with a pair of danglers.. Every man would love to hang around such a fashion forward woman.

Ladies its about time you switched your silky nighties with your man’s shirt. Yes your very own man’s shirt. You will all agree with me  after watching the video that Dorah is as sexy as she’s beautiful in that shirt while frolicking with her man. Nuff said…
