This is what GQ had to say about the shoot
“In my mind it was all about reinventing the classics. The blue suit is a corporate staple, but why shouldn’t it be an every day fashion statement? Tiger of Sweden was an obvious choice for this. Maps has often been seen wearing the brand, but beyond that, their cuts are also decidedly more modern than a lot of other brands out there. Here it was all about the slim lapel and boxier silhouette.
A plain white or soft blue shirt would be the predictable option, but also far too corporate for our liking. I found this shirt at Versace Collection and was instantly drawn to it because of the colour and print. It felt like a modern update on an African motif, but in that delft and cobalt blue that’s so on trend right now. Paint splattering and running ink dyes are also very fashionable. Something about this reminded me of a Rorschach Test, which gave this that slightly twisted or edgier look and feel.
Of course the cherry on the cake was the pair of transparent spectacles from Tom Ford. The see through eyewear thing is HUGE right now, but what we both loved about these was that it had a slight colouring in that millennial pink that is all the rage at the moment. The colour also complimented the blue. And it’s Tom Ford. Nuff said.”
