The “It’s Showtime” Destination Experience by Tanqueray was nothing short of magical.

Our journey began in Kampala, heading to Jinja, and we arrived just in time to soak it all in. From the moment we stepped into Source of the Nile Hotel, the views took our breath away. The Nile stretched endlessly before us, calm and beautiful, setting the perfect tone for the day. Truly, this was a destination experience in every sense.

The décor was intentionally subtle, allowing the natural beauty of the location to shine. Nothing felt forced or overdone, just elegant touches that complemented the surroundings perfectly. One of the standout features of the venue was the infinity pool, overlooking the River Nile, adding to the relaxed yet luxurious atmosphere.

We were welcomed with a Tanqueray cocktail, and I started with a classic gin and tonic. It instantly set the mood. As I explored the venue, cocktail in hand, I found myself standing by the Nile, sipping Tanqueray and taking in the view. The weather played its role effortlessly: it was sunny yet cool, with a gentle breeze flowing in from the River Nile, and given that my cocktail was icecold, every sip felt refreshing and smooth.
As time passed and more guests arrived, the atmosphere became even more beautiful. Everyone truly understood the assignment. The outfits were brunch-perfect: shades of pink, yellow, white, florals, and soft colors filled the space. These colours also added life and color to the event.

Then the buffet opened, and it was indulgence at its best. A wide variety of dishes awaited us, but my personal favorites were the sushi and the fish: fresh Nile perch, straight from the River Nile, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious.
As we ate, Sakata live band played gentle, soothing music. The kind you could hum along to without even realizing it. Later in the evening, the energy rose with performances from Naava Grey, and Irene Namubiru truly crowned the night. They captured everyone’s hearts. Guests left their seats to sing along, dance, and even take selfies mid-performance. That closeness and warmth, you can only find at the it’s showtime events.

As darkness fell, the Christmas lights came on, transforming the space into something even more magical. In that moment, the Christmas spirit found me. I felt it deeply, and honestly, I didn’t want to return to Kampala.
Beyond the music, food, and cocktails, what stood out most were the connections. I made new friends, shared laughter, and enjoyed genuine conversations throughout the day. It was warm, joyful, and memorable.
The Showtime Destination Experience by Tanqueray was a feeling, a moment, and a beautiful escape. One I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
