Ugandan-British actress Sheila Atim, is set to join the star-studded cast of Disney’s upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King.” Directed by Barry Jenkins, the movie serves as a prequel to the 2019 remake of the beloved animated musical. Walt Disney Studios dropped the first teaser for the film on yesterday April 29, unveiling an exciting glimpse into the storyline.

According to reports from Good Morning America, plans for “Mufasa: The Lion King” were initially unveiled in September 2020. The movie promises to delve into the backstory of iconic characters like Mufasa and Scar, exploring their early years and the challenges they faced. Alongside Sheila Atim, the cast includes Beyoncé reprising her role as Nala, with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter making her debut as Kiara. Other notable actors joining the ensemble include Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Tiffany Boone, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience for fans of all ages.
