Sandra Suubi held her maiden concert last week on Sunday at Kampala Parent Naguru Auditorium which kick-started her Nsiimye Tour. The event started at 6 pm with Jehovah Shallom an acapella group opening the show. She had four guest performing artists who included Mike O, Essie and Shamsi band. Unlike other concerts where an artist invites popular artists, Suubi worked with artists who are little known, but they took us on a musical Journey with their beautiful voices and sound and dancing moves.
Sandra Suubi stepped on stage at exactly 7:00pm and started by singing the National Anthem which transitioned into Kingdom come and got the audience on their feet with her energetic performance and vocal power. She was dressed in a bronze metallic outfit. She sang songs off her Ep, like Togwamu suubi which she performed with Benezeri, Heaven, Nsiimye the crowd favorite and ‘Jangu Tuzine’ which got the audience dancing like there is no tomorrow. Suubi invited Xabu her former girl group and also shared with us their vocal prowess and swiftness. Suubi also performed songs from watoto choir and a collaboration with Cooper Ssali.
For her second set, she was clad in a navy blue outfit which flattered her body so well and matched well with the swiftness of her voice and grace. She invited fellow artists who were in attendance and together they performed ‘Mama’ by Judith Babirye a song which moved every one as they were celebrating mother’s day.
She had an intimate audience that sang and danced along to all her music as she performed. The event was well organized and we were informed it was organized by Karizm Business. Her next show will be happening on Thursday from 5 pm at Deliverance church Makerere.
One thing is for sure, Sandra Suubi put up an exceptional performance and she has come out of the shadows of Airtel trace. She can now be counted among the artists we have in the country. Her Ep is now available and is sold at 20,000/=
