Sandra Suubi Outs ‘Revive Us’, a Riveting Worship Anthem!

‘Revive Us’ is a worship song written, produced by Florocka and voiced by both Florocka and Sandra Suubi. Florocka states that Revive us is a worship Anthem that will bless people’s souls. It is a prayer of intercession which he holds dear to his heart.

Sandra Suubi’s vocals blend well with Florocka and thus birthing a soothing, prayerful, powerful yet a soul rejuvenating song. Sandra Suubi shared with us how the song is so timely with the movement of the Holy Spirit in the church and rejuvenates her souls as well.

Both artistes shared their excitement about the collaboration by posting on their social media platforms about the release of the song. This gives hope that the song will be promoted both in Nigeria and Uganda. The song will be released on 26th February 2020. The song will be available on all streaming platforms and performed live by both artistes on 27th March 2020 during the Vine awards at Serena.

Sandra Nakitto popularly known as Sandra Suubi; is an award winning artiste with several award nominations and Visual artist. She is a musician, a vocalist and song writer who has established herself in the fusion of afro soul, afro-pop and afro –zouk through her music. In 2015, she won the Airtel Trace Music competition – Uganda chapter, and went on to release her EP titled Anthems of Life in 2018. In 2019, she released her two singles Faya and Musalaba with Faya topping the charts in Uganda.

Sandra Suubi uses her voice as the instrument to study and explore how the themes of love, faith, hope and identity translate in her own personal experience as well as her local context in Uganda. Her voice has been termed as ‘a resounding bell tower to which one can’t help but pay attention, always with such conviction that it draws you in to an experience curated by the artiste herself.
She holds a MA in fine art and has consistently devotes her work to critical explorations of how material (mainly recycled plastic), environment and social factors impact the reality of contemporary Ugandan life. Suubi’s investigations and curiosity are really based on providing a challenge for herself to figure out what she and her audience can discover through this material. Suubi often says, ‘If it stays with us, it must work for us’. She creates intricate, amorphic, highly textural sculptural installations using waste materials that mimic the ways of nature and hopes that the audience would bring their own associations and experience to the work thus its completion.
