Rwandan Brand Moshions’ Latest Collection Is a Nod to Impressive Craftsmanship and Gender Freedom
Imandwa Zose is the title of Moshions’ latest collection, which was presented in the picturesque setting of Villa Romana, a neoclassical villa nestled in the hills of Florence, Italy during Pitti Uomo.
The collection is a bust of bright and neutral tone colors, including a lot of pink pastels, whites and black. It also successfully balances the contemporary aesthetic Moshions has developed with the amount of trends that have emerged over the past year and the start of this fashion season.
Dominique Muret from Fashion Network described the collection as a ‘breath of fresh air’. “Pants and tops were kept loose and flowy, wide black shorts were paired with short-sleeved classic white shirts, long tunic tops resembled boubous, and suits bore horizontal colored stripes. However, his approach to draping is what stood out the most, with silk shirts extending into scarves or shawls worn over one shoulder. Others seemed to float, rippled by delicate wave-like drapes. An impressive blazer that extends like a Roman toga or jacket-capes were also stand-out pieces,” he wrote in his review of the collection.
The brand had this to say about the collection:
Our ready-to-wear collection gives a nod to impressive craftsmanship and gender freedom. Titled “Imandwa Zose”, All the Ancient Gods, the collection is a sequel of the successful couture pieces launched in November 2021. Imandwa Zose was designed to underscore the brand’s continued commitment to addressing social issues – such as gender freedom, sustainability – through traditional aesthetics and modern couture.
