It’s happening, Navy! After nearly a decade of musical drought, Rihanna is ready to quench the thirst of her devoted fans with brand-new music. The billionaire mogul, beauty empire queen, and ultimate bad gal herself has confirmed that she’s been cooking up something special in the studio—and she’s finally cracked the code.
In an exclusive cover story for Harper’s Bazaar US March 2025 Legacy Issue, Rihanna spilled the long-awaited tea. “I’ve been in the studio the whole eight years,” she confessed. “But it didn’t hit me. I was searching for it. I went through phases of what I wanted to do. ‘This kind of album, not that album.’”
With her last album, Anti, still standing strong as one of the most critically acclaimed projects of the 2010s, fans have been begging for a follow-up. And while she’s blessed us with Fenty Beauty, Savage X Fenty, and two beautiful babies along the way, nothing quite fills the void of fresh Rihanna tunes. But according to her, this next body of work isn’t about meeting expectations—it’s about breaking them.
“I know it’s not going to be anything that anybody expects,” she revealed. “And it’s not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be right now. I feel like I’ve finally cracked it, girl!”
