Rated Next winner Ruth Grace’s debut single is here

After winning our hearts with her charming personality on the hit TV show Cocacola Rated Next and walking away with 50 million Uganda shillings, 14-year-old Ruth Grace has released her début song. The song titled ‘Ebirooto’ (dreams) is not your average song. The immensely powerful message is delivered on easy well put together lyrics. It is not ‘preachy’ at all which ideally you would expect from a young Ugandan teenager.

She sounds just as convincing as she looks in the music video which was also executed decently. The chorus is a catchy one which I believe was a genius way of having her peers – the teens humming away in unison.

The only flaw I noticed on this project was in the music video where the 14-year-old singer was dressed like she was 14 years older than herself. The white high low dress did no justice to her little frame. I would have preferred to see her in something more fashionably current but still demure just to connect with her teen fans.

This is definitely a great start. We are already excited and can’t wait to listen to her next projects.
