Rachel K’s talent is one that needs little introduction; she earned critical acclaim very early in her career, before going on to land career-defining landmarks such as the 2010 Pepsi World Cup theme song ‘Oh Africa’, on which she collaborated with Akon , Keri Hilson and more.

That’s why, after a long hiatus, the singer is back with a masterpiece aptly titled ‘Captivating’, a reflection of the growth she has mustered over the years.

Penned by Tusker Project Fame alum Esther Nabaasa, produced by Michael Mugisha alias Michael Fingers (Masters Music), and taking cues from Pop, R&B and Neo Soul sounds, ‘Captivating’ is a mesmerizing marriage of rhythmic, hip-shaking percussion and laid-back sultry vocals.

Rachel K says, “‘Captivating’ was inspired by a real-life story sparked from one of my guitar sessions. From my experience, it represents one of those moments when you are caught up in emotions, you think you are in love with this one particular person. It can also be about anything like; nature, love, inspirational, it depends on the situation.”

The 35-year-old star goes ahead to explore the themes the formed the vision of the masterpiece with an equally captivating music video. The minimalist but exhilarating film focuses on the singer, who pours her heart out through the song’s powerful lyrics.  “I see your fingers play that board; I feel them run across my soul. The way you tilt your head makes me weak, because I feel the way that you feel,” she belts away as she plays on a piano.

The striking visual masterpiece was shot by  videographer Aaronaire On Set (Aaronaire Pictures), with styling by Kai’s Divo Collection and makeup by Peter Russell.
