Nyege Nyege 2019 Through The Lense Of a Photographer Whose Career Was Birthed By the Festival

Born out of an act of sheer collective madness in the rainy season of 2015, Nyege Nyege Festival has grown into one of the biggest music festivals in the region. With a carefully curated line up of over 200 artists on 5 days at the Nile Discovery Resort in Jinja, the festival has surely turned from a passion project into a cultural force that brings together music and party lovers from all over the world.

This year’s edition, which held from 5^th to 8^th September, is the biggest yet. Nelly Salvatore, a Ugandan photographer, who credits the festival for giving him a career, created a special photo album from the event (you can see it here).

“I could describe the theme of this year’s festival as “Party after Party” because indeed that’s what it was all about from day one to the last day of nyege nyege!” he shared.
