Nuruh Jjagwe Had The Valentine’s Day Treat of Her Dreams!

Valentine’s Day is long gone, but the memories are still fresh. Because it was a season of giving and sharing, Satisfashion UG teamed up with Fatumahasha, Kai’s Divo Collection, Breeze Serenity Salon & Spa, Mwizaastore, Rema and Ochieng Photography, to give away a heavy treat to one lucky couple.

To participate, one had to share a brief story of how they met their partner. We received hundreds of responses, some hilarious and others tear-inducing. However, as per the terms and conditions, we had to choose only one winner randomly, which we did.

Nuruh Jjagwe, a bursar at Hawa Secondary School and makeup artist with her own brand Nurains Touch, emerged winner.

I met my husband 8 years ago through my best friend Farida who was/is his workmate. A while ago we had attended a friend’s introduction ceremony where Farida asked whether I had someone or ever thought of getting married. I told her I didn’t have one but if the right person came by, I would definitely say yes. About a year later, she texted me via messenger asking whether I had found the right person and I told her “not yet”. She then asked “do you still want to get married?” I told her why not! She then told me about a workmate who was looking for a wife rather than a girlfriend. I was so excited and at the same time scared but so ready to have someone in my life. She arranged our meeting in November 2012. We did Nikka on 22nd June 2013. Alhamdulillah we are happily married and soon making 7years in marriage. 

Nuruh and her husband were invited for a fitting at Fatumahasha and Kai’s Divo Collection, which they honoured on a hot Saturday afternoon in the thickness of Kampala’s traffic. Unfortunately, two days to the D-day, Mr. Jjagwe got an impromptu assignment which he couldn’t turn down. Not to disappoint his wife, he invited Kimuli Abubaker, her brother to step in for him. Lucky for him, the Kai’s Divo Collection kaftan suit could fit.

Valentine’s Day

Just like the perfectionist Nuruh is, the day kicked off at 3pm instead of midday. Apparently she had to run around Kampala to get the exact accessories Fatumah Asha had requested her to wear with her dress. Unfazed, she and her brother arrived for their treat at Breeze Serenity Salon & Spa, which is located on the ground floor of Kampala Casino building. They were treated to a relaxing experience of massage, spa treatment, hair treatment, manicure, pedicure and more.

Again, because Nuruh is a makeup artist, and because of time, she did her makeup.

I did my makeup for the #valentinesgiveaway because we were so time bad… (I suck at keeping time🙈🙈 but I’m working on it). This facebeat took me roughly 40mins, I was really rushing yet I normally take my time when doing makeup (my clients can tell you). So I never thought this could be the outcome of a rushing situation! But I love it so much…to me it’s one of the best beats I’ve ever done.

At exactly 7pm, they left the salon and made their way to Hotel Africana for Rema’s concert.

According to Fatumah, Nuruh wanted something very simple, something she’s able to wear over and over again. I hope we made her happy.

I remember when I first saw @fatumahasha‘s gowns, I really loved them but I was so sure they wouldn’t look good on me and that was before I started working out. On a few encounters with her, I always told her to make me a round dress since this could hide my body shape.

At the back of my mind, I told myself that myself I’d have to let her design something for me one day. . And that is what I exactly did when I got this opportunity from @satisfashionug to decide on what I wanted. I still had issues with my tiny butt and she told me “don’t you worry”.
