To my amazing, superhero Mom,

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being the best mum of the year in the whole wide world. I write to make you happy, I write to make you smile from ear to ear, I write to make you love me more than the time you loved me when you found out about our existence. Nina was a plan and I was the surprise (a bonus from the Almighty).

I write to thank you for every stretch mark you endured for my sake, for every breathe you took in and not have me suffocate in the darkness of your love within your belly, the late nights, the tears I wiped off your face with my small hands. The joy you bring in my life is the joy I want to show you in my life.

As a Mom, you have hit all the highest standards and have gone above and beyond. On behalf of all my siblings, you deserve a lifetime’s worth of thank yous. You gave up on all the things you wished could come true when you were my age, the dreams you had and wanted to come true, you gave up those pretty expensive things so that I can have an education.

We all know being a mother isn’t easy, but being a one of kind mother, I truly thank God for placing me in the right family and with a beautiful mom like you. You raised us to respect everyone, and above all ourselves. Above all, you showed us how to be ourselves and taught us to treat others with kindness.

Most importantly, I thank you for showing me right from wrong, for encouraging me in my walk of faith and for staying up late when I was sick, during a heartbreak, when life wasn’t going my way. Not only are you the mother of the year, you are sure the mother of the century.
