Noor and Isac met at a mosque in East London, the UK where they both had gone to attend Darasa (Islamic classes). “I was blown away immediately,” Isac recalls. “A Muslim woman. A God-fearing woman. Noor possessed all the qualities I desired in a woman.” “He didn’t hesitate to ask me out,” Noor recalls. Six years later, the couple got engaged. Discover their wedding story.

Planning the wedding

The couple began planning their nuptials in December 2021 shortly after their engagement, she recalls, “Planning was beyond smooth thanks to the help of event planner Angie who coordinated everything in Kampala. We jetted into the country a week to our wedding day.”

Her bridal gown

My gown was custom-made by Nova Bella, a Turkish fashion designer. However, getting the gown to Kampala didn’t come without challenges. “When we kicked off our journey to Uganda, while at Heathrow airport, we checked in our luggage of 12 bags. However, upon landing at Entebbe airport we received only 8 bags. To make matters worse, the suitcase which carried my wedding gown was among the 4 missing bags. I was distraught. On the eve of our wedding day, I received a phone call from Entebbe Airport informing me of the arrival of the 4 missing bags, and that they were on the way to my Ugandan address. I sighed with relief. But, to my shock, only 2 bags arrived and again, the suitcase that carried my gown was among the two missing bags. I wasn’t mused at all!”

“Later that night my fiancé had to wait for almost two hours at their offices in Ntinda before the 2 missing bags were located and handed over to him. At that point, I had given up and was ready to wear one of my two changing gowns. It was worth the wait though because it all turned out perfectly in the end.”

Decor

Yvonne of Steph & Steph Decor guided us on the colors to go with and this turned out just as perfect as well. I also asked her to surprise me with my bouquet, which was unbelievable because she chose the same colors I had in mind. I think she is a mind reader!
