Held from January 28–31, 2026, Nairobi Fashion Week returned with a renewed sense of purpose, embracing the theme DECARBONIZE. The four-day showcase placed sustainability at the forefront, highlighting circular design, ethical production processes, and the use of climate-smart materials across the runway.
Local and regional brands demonstrated how fashion can be both innovative and responsible. Through upcycling, slow fashion principles, and community-driven craftsmanship, designers continued to redefine contemporary African style while reinforcing Nairobi’s growing influence at the heart of Africa’s green fashion movement.
Now in its eighth season, Nairobi Fashion Week has matured into a vital platform for Kenyan artistry and a catalyst for wider conversations around sustainable fashion on the continent. The 2026 edition further strengthened this mission, challenging industry stakeholders to rethink how garments are designed, produced, and consumed in an era of climate awareness.
As Kenya’s creative economy gains increasing global attention, Nairobi is positioning itself as a leader in shaping a cleaner, more conscious, and future-ready fashion industry for Africa.
