Mountain Dew has today launched an engaging and exciting countrywide tour dubbed, “Mountain Dew Xtreme Xperience Tour” to reward and deepen its connection with its customers in Uganda.
The tour will run for two months until December 10, 2014 in major towns across the country.
“Crown Beverages Limited (CBL) has injected over Shs400 million into the tour. The tour shall provide an opportunity for Mountain Dew to bring to life its thematic campaign “experience extreme”. The campaign is aimed at inspiring youth in Uganda to be bold, daring and different and to live their lives to the fullest. It encourages them to go out there and grab all the excitement and adventure the world has to offer,” Mr Innocent Tibayeita, head of sales and marketing CBL, said.
Motocross, an adrenaline-charging sport, will be used as the flagship activity of the tour. Mountain Dew has for the last six years been the lead sponsor of the sport in Uganda.
Experienced motocross riders; Micheal Ntairo and Ahmed Tamale will be the lead acts and they shall do extreme stunts like free-styling, jumps, spins, short races, and wheelies.
The activations will also be spiced up with other extreme activities like: skate boarding, roller blading, video gaming, and powerisors, among others.
According to Timothy Luzinda, the Mountain Dew brand manager, the tour shall go to all major towns in Uganda culminating into two big shows in Kawempe and Bweyogerere where the fans will experience great entertainment from top artistes, deejay mixes, and challenges that could enable them win lots of Mountain Dew goodies.
Last year, Mountain Dew rolled out the Xtreme Gamers Tour which attracted over 5,000 videogamers and rewarded hundreds with prizes worth shs100 million.
