The business of male models is slowly picking up here in Kampala. Just like everywhere in the world male models make a lot less money and command just minimal respect in the industry. This is attributed to the fact that the business has more female customers. It’s therefore nice to see that our own male models are doing their best to break through.
Just like last year’s Forever Love fashion show by Sylvia Owori that introduced most of the popular male models on the scene, this year’s Fashion and Style Explosion did the same. We saw a number of new faces and are happy to announce that some of them are the models to watch come next year.
1. Alberto Duncan
He’s been featured on model land here. After doing campaigns for Smile Telecom and major runway gigs, we feel that he will be appearing a lot more often next year. He’s probably one of the few Ugandan models who can captivate you while on the runway.
2. Adam Riley
He is a good friend of the site. His uniquely chiseled features will be making another statement next year. He’s already an accomplished model with an enviable resume. He is surely set for big things.
3. John Paul JP
Arguably one of the sexiest men on the runway at the Fashion & Style explosion. This is one watch at all men’s wear runway shows in 2014. He has done editorial work for Buzz magazine.
4. Mumba Benon
He is another new face. There’s just something captivating about him on the runway. I guess he is quite popular on social media. When he steps on the runway the audience goes gaga. He is surely one to watch.
5. John Iwueke
His editorial work is too impressive for a young model while his attitude on the run way is show stopping. We cannot wait to see what he can offer in 2014.
