A total of 9 contestants, blew the audience away at the “Miss Uganda UK” beauty pageant, held at the Wandsworth Civic Centre in London, with a showcase of costumes that were inspired by the mother land Uganda and the national bird, the crested crane.
The ‘BEST CREATIVE WEAR 2023’ title went to @fyth.alyce.

This is what Faith Rusoke had to say about her creative look:
“I handmade and painted each part of the outfit myself. And it is made from paper plate which I chose because it is a biodegradable resource, I cut and layered them so it could mimic the layers of feathers on a bird. The head and neck jewellery I made from old tomato tin lids. The purpose was to use sustainable materials so show how we as humans can be more environmentally friendly because our beautiful birds the crested cranes are becoming endangered so we should begin making more sustainable choices. On the back there are two hand painted cranes forming a heart to symbolize the togetherness and love we share as a nation!”
