Meet Winnie Ndagire, The Travel Agent Who Loves Her Job Way Too Much

Ndagire Winnie doesn’t take life too seriously. Never! The administrator at Holiday Territory, believes in keeping everything simple.

She had a little chat with us about what she wears to work.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a travel agent. I work with Holiday Territory, a travel company.

What do you do at Holiday Territory?

I’m an administrative assistant, PR and travel consultant.

What do you love most about your job?

My colleagues are my pride. We all share the same vision and dedicated to the same mission. I also love that I work for very understanding bosses. Working for them is such as joy.

What makes a good travel agent?

It’s quite simple. Make sure to build and develop relationships with people in the travel business in different markets. You should be able to sell the best travel experiences to customers beyond their expectations.

What do you normally wear to work?

First of all I work with Holiday Territory, a travel company. This means we have uniforms we wear from Monday to Friday. We do different colours during the week; white from Monday to Wednesday then sky blue on Thursdays and Fridays.

However, when I have big meetings I wear my sky blue shirt, because I believe it gives me the confidence to shine.

What’s your go-to make up for work?

I don’t really do makeup, just Mac lipstick is enough and goes well with my short dreads. I love to keep it simple like that.

How long do you take to get dressed up for work?

7 minutes is always enough for me to dress up.

How many pairs of work wear shoes do you own? Heels/ or flats?

I have a lot of pairs of shoes, but only wear them when going out. For work, I only wear 3 pairs of pumps because comfort comes first when I’m at work. When heading for meetings I have a pair of heels under my desk suited just for that. After the meeting, they usually go head back under the desk.

Have you ever had a wardrobe malfunction at work? How did you deal with it?

Oh, my office pants once split open. Lucky for me, I was on a Safe Boda heading home. I fixed them as soon as I got home.

Away from work you seem to love to make a statement on the red carpet. How do you choose your red carpet outfits?

What’s work without a bit of off time? I shop from my girl Yashakeys who hooks me up with some cool finds. Some times during my travels, I do a bit of shopping too. Also go downtown as well when I have time. It’s always about comfort for me.  

You’re always posting hilarious videos on Instagram. Is that all you do at work?

I’m a hilarious person. It’s always about how I feel. I hate being sad. Those videos are my way of distracting myself from the pressure at work.

Still about your Instagram, you’re always travelling.

Travelling is part of my job. It helps us to discover new cool offers to add onto our offering. I make sure to try all of them before our clients so that I know what I’m recommending. I enjoy this part so much because it’s always some sort of holiday for me.
