Meet Jaylor Birungi, The Swangz Avenue P.R.O Who Takes Just 5 Minutes To Get Dressed For Work
As you head to Roast & Ryhme, you’ll probably not know that there’s a machine of creatives and corporate people that work tirelessly in the back-end to make sure you have an awesome time. That team is led by Swangz Avenue’s P.R.O/ Events Manager, Ms. Jaylor Birungi.
The passionate fashionista (yes, she’s just as good on the red carpet as she is in the boardroom) loves sneakers and takes just five minutes to get dressed for work. She had a chat with Satisfashion UG on her job, makeup and wearing red.
What do you normally wear to work?
If I could I’d wear my favorite comfortable go to clothes i.e. sweatpants and hoodies or T-shirt however my kind of job is broad. When I have meetings and presentations you’ll see me in full formal clothes, when I have TV interviews, I’ll glam up a little; rock something chic and sophisticated, when I’m at my events you’ll definitely see me in pieces from my own clothing line (TheSirJaylorExperience) Overall or Jumpsuit.
What’s your go-to make up for work?
On normal office days just lip-gloss. During event media runs definitely full makeup and mostly a red or Maroon lip. During the event, it depends how busy I am but you’ll most definitely find me with no makeup.
How long do you take to get dressed up for work?
5 minutes on normal days, 30minutes during media run days because of the makeup. On event day, just 5 minutes is enough. Ain’t no time hahahahaha
Do you have a special colour/ outfit you wear for big meetings/ or on tough days?
White or Red for big meetings. I never really recall what I wear on tough days I think it’s black. What makes Red and white special is; with white I feel light, new and strong and then Red is a statement maker. ‘I’m here!’
How many pairs of work wear shoes do you own?
Off head I count like 30 heels, close to 30-40 sneakers and 5 flats
Why?, because I love comfortable heels and sporty sneakers. I have just a few flats because I do field work and they are not comfortable, they are for my chill days.
Where do you shop/ buy comfortable work wear clothing?
I have my go to lady downtown. Sometimes Mr. Price, My Friend Rautha has a boutique she hooks me up sometimes. For my hoodies and sweatpants I only have one go to store called Salem clothing.
What’s does your job at Swangz Avenue entail?
I am the PR and Events manager therefore you’ll see me speaking on behalf of Swangz Avenue, and I also manage all events we do here.
What do you love most about this job?
What I love most about my job is the creative process involved in each of our products; from events, to songs and artistes. Knowing that we created something that revellers love and are having a good time with gives me a lot of satisfaction.
What fashion/ style tip do you live by, and can gladly share with other women?
I live by 2 fashion style tips.
