Louis Vuitton’s New ‘It Bag’ is a Phone Case

When Nicolas Ghesquière sent his first look down the runway for Louis Vuitton’s spring 2016 collection on the final day of Paris Fashion Week, the designer presented a brand new phone case that could very well rival the next “It” bag of the season.

The accessory is a tech-friendly version of Ghesquière’s Petite Malle, an “It”-worthy handbag that the designer created for his debut runway show for the French fashion house back in 2014. It’s a modernized and miniature version of Louis Vuitton’s signature travel trunks.

The day before the show, Ghesquière gave his followers on Instagram a low-key sneak peek of the new accessory — emblazoned with a classic LV-logo motif and iconic hardware details. On the runway, there were plenty of reiterations, like gold and silver metallics, checkerboard patterns, as well as red and nude-colored crocodile leather. With so many options at the ready, we have a feeling Ghesquière is banking on the success of these cases for next season.

Though the brand’s current offerings of phone cases go for between $295 and $445, we have a feeling these new styles will ring in at a much higher price; prices for the Petite Malle bag usually start at $5,500.
