Kyaddala, A Pan-African TV Series Set To Premiere On The 27th

Here's what we know so far

A press conference was held earlier this morning about the release and artistic direction of the series Kyaddala: It’s Real. Reach A Hand Uganda, in conjunction with Emmanuel Ikubese Films are set for the premiere of this series. The series is meant to deal with issues the youth go through including sexual reproductive health information and help start a conversation around these topics.

While the series is to officially begin airing on NBS Television in October, the exclusive premiere will be on the 27th of September. It is set to attract key players in the film industry from Uganda and beyond, ranging from movie directors, producers, actors and actresses beyond even the cast for the series, according to a press release.

As the film was shot and directed in Kampala, Kyaddala looks to shine a light on society’s role in addressing challenges faced by the youth, while remaining entertaining. The cast which comprises of 28 actors and numerous extras, some who include Martha Kay, Elanor and Matthew Nabwiso, Anita Fabiola and Salvador Idring as well as Kevin Wanjiru from Kenya, Emmanuel Ikubese and Olumide Ollu from Nigeria.

The director and executive producer for the series, Emmanuel Ikubese, spoke out on the inter-continental collaboration, “Kyaddala: It’s Real is the real definition of a pan African show in which all young people, even beyond Uganda will relate to.”

The series which currently has 8 episodes “has been carefully crafted to portray a message which Uganda film lovers will love,” adds Helen Patricia Amutuhaire, the Reach a Hand representative.
