Kardashian 2013 Kristmas Kard most elaborate yet
It’s their annual Christmas tradition – but this year it cost an absolute bomb! $250,000 to be exact – and the Kardashian Klan didn’t fork out a penny for it.
Shot by acclaimed photographer, David LaChapelle, the Kardashian-Jenner women (plus Bruce and three-year-old Mason) have posed in a bizarre Vegas style, casino and circus themed shoot for their annual Christmas card.
But Rob Kardashian, Scott Disick, and Lamar Odom who all appeared in last year’s card are notably absent this year.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians production company footed the bill for the elaborate shoot.
A source told Radar Online: “It took three days just to put the set together. David was extremely involved in all details of the set installation. It was Kim’s idea to get David to do the family photo Christmas picture. At first, David balked because he does photo shoots for major magazines, but Kim convinced him to do it.
“It wasn’t a cheap photo shoot, and the production company of Keeping Up With The Kardashians paid the $250,000 invoice. Hair, make-up, wardrobe, were all paid for by production, and the Kardashians didn’t pay one dime for their Christmas card!”
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter North is also missing.
Despite announcing in October that Bruce and Kris Jenner were divorcing, the Kardashian patriarch still appears in the card alongside his brood, albeit trapped in a see-through tube.
Is he literally stuck in a glass case of emotions?
“The glam, golden, glitzy photo features the Kardashian-Jenner clan draped in black and posing in a graffiti-strewn, artistically-trashed carnival-inspired room, littered with dollar signs, pop art and magazines, that looks as if it was taken in post-Mad Max Vegas,” wrote People magazine of the photo.
The mag adds that the “photo seems to state that life as a member of the Kardashian family is a constant media circus.”
Eonline.com reports that Kim’s face can be seen in the picture roughly 60 times.
Kanye West and Lamar Odom can be seen on magazines littering the floor despite not appearing in the photo.
Is anyone feeling Christmassy?
