Kansai Plascon Uganda Introduces Its 2019 Colour Forecast

Let the colour selection inspire your closet

As part of the sponsors for Uganda International Fashion Week, Kansai Plascon has introduced their 2019 Colour Forecast. This is meant to empower homeowners to decode the world of colour and make it relevant to their spaces, life stages, personal taste and sense of style.

I can see how the fashion world can mesh with this Colour Forecast. Pantone usually releases the colour of the year at the beginning of each year, and whether conciously or not, fashion designers and influencers find themselves gravitating towards these colours throughout the year and its seasons. Plascon is doing this for Uganda as well and I spent all day yesterday going through the colour forecast and seeing what in my closet was on point and how I could add these aspects into my life, because truth be told, the colour choices are WAVYYYYY!

They decided to create a vibe for each colour family, and this year they went for Minimalist, Luxury, Urban and Glamour. Let me break each down.

Minimalist

This colour story is full of muted colours, pastels and greys. Their Daiquiri Cream colour brings this tranquil, rested air about the place, and when matched with Night’s Cloak it makes for a room that doesn’t overwhelm the eye. Grab yourself a pair of heels in this blueish purple shade and show your unique side, like Lucy Smize in this dress.

Luxury

This is my faveeee! The colours have that “you can’t sit with us” vibe and they are so high maintenance. They bring the vibes of authenticity with the darker neutrals like Black Bean and set it off with a rich colour like Beeswax Candle. It excites me mostly because I had chosen Mustard Yellow as my own colour for the year and Plascon basically agrees! If you are not into buying paint you could let it influence your choice in dresses, a deep, rich colour like that would take it up so many levels, like Art-preneur Kemiyondo with these earrings.

Urban

The urban vibe is full of metallics and industrial colours with a pop of colour for shock value as well as to add that fun aspect. An electric blue like Plascon’s Pristine Blue can bring that out very well. A manicure in that shade wouldn’t do anyone any harm. Look at Judithiana in this blue green jacket.

Glamour

This colour story is full of light, fun shades that bring out the social butterfly within. Pastels like Nutmeg Dust give the fairy kind of feel to a room and a deeper shade like Groovy Grape brings a bit of calm to it all. We know that neutrals and beiges look so chic, so paired with a purple-ish grape pop of colour will take your look to a whole new level. Judith Heard is the epitome of glamour with this shawl or Lamic Kirabo in the pastels.

Through the launching of Kansai Plascon’s Colour Forecast at the UIFW 2019 event, Plascon endeavors to provide innovation, inspiration and education, not just for the home owner but also linking how fashion industry influences and has a strong connectivity to the interior design industry.
