Juliana should wear these designs by Alecool on her next concert

UK based Uganda designer Alecool showcased his collection together with our friend D-Zaina at Cayenne last week. Forgive us for not posting about the show early, we had to get our hands on the photos first. While I was sure of D-Zaina, I really wanted to see what Alecool had to offer. And I have to admit that I was floored.

Fashion design is about creating something new. It’s about putting your artistic impression of life on textile, fabric or any material there can be. Alecool proved that there was more to him than what Ugandan designers are known for. Besides being creative, his clothes were impeccably finished. You could buy it straight from the runway and wear it the next morning. Kudos to him.

It’s sad that we Ugandans are still hesitant to support these designers. I saw a couple of outfits Jose Chameleon could wear. Good news is that his stylist Kim Swagga was in attendance. In that regard, we’ve decided to style Juliana Kanyomozi for her next concert using this collection.

Is it too early to start talking about her next concert? I don’t think so. After her very successful ‘JulianaLiveConcert‘ last year, she was knighted as the queen of style and music in Uganda. We believe that if she wears designs by Ugandan fashion designers, the rest of the music fraternity will follow suit.
