Join Satisfashion UG & Uganda Vitiligo Association in Celebration of World Vitiligo Day This Tuesday

As part of our week-long awareness campaign on vitiligo, including our June 2024 cover, Satisfashion UG, together with the Uganda Vitiligo Association and in partnership with the British Council Uganda, will be joining the rest of the world to celebrate World Vitiligo Day.

Observed on June 25, World Vitiligo Day is an initiative aimed at building global awareness about vitiligo. Vitiligo occurs in 1-2% of the population worldwide, resulting in a change of color in the skin and creating a variety of patterns from the loss of pigment.

Taking place on Tuesday, June 25th, at the British Council in Kampala, the event is an opportunity for us to come together as a community to support and uplift one another while learning about vitiligo. We will have inspiring stories from individuals with vitiligo, informative sessions from medical experts, and activities designed to foster inclusivity and understanding.

The panel of speakers includes our June 2024 cover women, namely Cerinah Tugume, Doreen Buchanan, Michelle Neza, Eva Atukunda, and Maclyn Kemigisha, along with media personality David Ogutu, dermatologist Dr. Malik Ssempereza, and more.
