The 6th edition and grand crowning of the new Miss Africa dubbed ‘The Reunion’ is slated to hold in the beautiful Carnival City of Calabar on the 27th of December 2022 during the annual Calabar Christmas Festival. According to the Head of production Miss Africa and the Senior Special Assistant Governor’s Office Events Production & Tourism, Mr. Thomas Ikpeme; it is time to raise a true African beautiful eloquent and intelligent Queen that will challenge African leaders to focus more on effective agricultural production and agro-industrialization with the pageant’s major five goals.
Uganda will be represented by Joan Nabatanzi who is the current reigning Miss Africa Calabar Uganda.
Joan Nabatanzi:
“I‘m a 25 year old African woman from the land of opportunity, abundance and kindness, my beautiful country Uganda. It is also called “The pearl of Africa” because of its abundant biodiversity, color, profusion, brilliant life, and its serene beauty.
Moonlighting with a passion for helping children, I prioritize their education and the mentorship of underprivileged youth. Education also plays a crucial role in my life as I’m currently a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
I was motivated to volunteer in different organizations with similar causes to help and reach out to different children and enable them to access schools again. I’m proud to say that helping our youth has been the most rewarding project that I have started so far, especially in rural areas of Uganda where I had the most success in transforming lives through my work.”
The MC for the day is famous Tv personality and host of the BBNaija Reality series Ebuka Obi Uchendu with Nigerian singer Mayorkun as the guest performer.
