Jackie Chandiru’s new music video Kalas is a ‘Hot mess’!

Apart from leaving you utterly confused after understanding literally nothing, Jackie Chandiru’s new song Kalas is a catchy tune. Even after using a few English words here and there, we still didn’t get what she meant with this song.  The music video does not save the situation.  The singer makes chilling in a sewer pipe cool as she’s joined by two dancers wearing ripped denim hot pants. The dancers gyrate away fiercely like this will help us understand something about the song.

The singer is seen writhing in darkness in a black chiffon dress and later finds peace in a rusty old car.

In true Jackie Chandiru eccentricity,  the video is all over the place. It’s clear that there was little or no storyline. Should we guess this song is about living life free and ‘posing on old rusty cars’?

The most mind-boggling scene is where she sips on ‘God knows what’ from a glass dressed with flower petals. what on earth did this mean?

With all the imagery on the aside, her make up was on point. It filled her beautifully dark skin like a glove. The accessorizing was also genius. Her sensuality and sex appeal were strongly accentuated when she wore the little yellow shorts and black top. The dance routine where she’s involved makes the tune even more groovy.

Jackie Chandiru’s songs in Lugbara have never been this intense. She always strives to leave  us with room to digest her lyrics and construe here and there. However this time she went all out and left us lost right at the beginning. The interesting part is that we danced throughout it all not caring about what we were dancing to.
