Instagram Unveils Exclusive Sharing: Your Feed Posts and Reels, Reserved Just for Your Inner Circle!

It’s finally time to retire your “finsta.”

Instagram has introduced a novel feature enabling users to share feed posts and Reels exclusively with their Close Friends lists. Originally available for Instagram Stories in 2018 and subsequently extended to Notes, this feature aims to tap into the increasing number of users who actively view their Close Friends list as a stress-free space for connecting with others. Instagram expressed the hope that this feature will provide users with more avenues to express their authentic selves on the platform, offering greater control over who can view their content.

Traditionally, many users created “finsta” accounts, private profiles dedicated to interacting with a select circle of friends for sharing such content. However, with this recent Instagram update, it is anticipated that a significant number of these accounts will become obsolete.

Here’s a breakdown of how the new feature operates: before sharing a feed post or Reel, users must navigate to the Audience tab and opt for the Close Friends option. Subsequently, by tapping the share button, their posts will be visible on the feeds of accounts listed in their Close Friends, distinguished by a green star icon. Notably, the Close Friends list remains consistent across posts, Reels, Stories, and Notes.

To commemorate the launch, Lil Yachty will provide his followers with an exclusive peek into his Close Friends content for a limited period. For a firsthand look at how the feature functions on the platform, interested users can visit his Instagram account.
