Husna Hakim Rajab has been unveiled as this year’s Ms. World International Uganda. The 30-year-old model and beauty queen will represent Uganda at the grand pageant, in Miami, Florida this August, a fit that will pit her against 80 other women from across the world.

According to a press statement, the goal of the Ms. World International Pageant is to inspire women from every country, continent and culture to come together, in the spirit of competition, to share their passions and promote their platforms on an international stage.

Husna, who was Miss Uganda North 2015/ 2016, is excited to showcase her talents and also represent her country. “It’s a great honour for any patriotic Ugandan to go out there and represent their country, however this is a special one. I am doing what I love on a such a global stage whilst wearing my country’s name on my sash,” she shared.

Husna goes to Ms World International with a stellar profile; besides participating in the Miss Uganda and winning the Miss Uganda North title, she has worked as model for renowned brands such as Lauma Lingerie, Sylvia Owori, and Abryanz Clothing.

Having been raised by a village of loving people in the slums of Katwe, Husna is fully aware of how powerful pageantry is, and she’s intent on using her title and celebrity to impact the community. “I grew up in the slums of Katwe as a tomboy with low esteem, but thanks to a few good friends, I was encouraged to participate in the Miss Uganda pageant,” she recalls. “Winning the Miss Uganda North title was a big life highlight for me. Thanks to the title, I was able to run a few projects like Save a Girl Child and Keeping a Girl Child.” Through these campaigns, Rajab was able to impact over 1000 young people in Northern Uganda. “My journey  has been nothing but a blessing,” she says.

Upon casting online in February, and after a rigorous selection procedure, Husna has been unveiled as Ms. World International Uganda 2023. “I am excited and cannot wait to bring this title home,” she says.
