Kampala Dance Studio was started by Her Royal Highness The Nnabagereka of Buganda thanks to her passion for ballet. It is now the leading dance school in Kampala offering a number of dance programmes which include ballet, modern dance, fitness classes, salsa and ballroom for adults. The school also has special offers such as choreography for occasions such as weddings. It is targeted to aspiring dancers aged 3 and beyond.
What sets KDS apart is the quality service evidenced in the state-of-the art dance floor and spacious parking; and the well trained facilitators and instructors. The studio offers a 12-week course consisting of practical dance training ending with a live performance in front of an audience.
Their recent live event was the amazing Lion King which held last year at the National Theatre. Young people who successfully complete the course receive certification. This certificate is recognized everywhere in the world, and students from KDS have been accepted at international dance schools all over the world.
One of the success stories of the studio is Sanyu Kisaka who is now a student of Theatre at the prestigious New York University. She’s a recognized actress and poet, thanks to her experience at Kampala Dance Studio also formally known as the Kampala Ballet and Modern Dance school.
