Hannah Karema‘s journey at the Miss World beauty pageant was nothing short of sensational. From winning ‘Beauty with a Purpose Africa’ to securing a spot in the Top 8, she left a remarkable mark. Her journey ended on Saturday, March 9, at the finale held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, where she emerged as the first runner-up for Miss World Africa. The 71st Miss World competition concluded with Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic winning the pageant.
Despite feeling nervous upon leaving Uganda for the competition last month, Karema’s ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ (BWAP) project presentation impressed the judges, propelling her into the top 25 contestants and ultimately into the top 8. Her project, initiated after winning the Miss Uganda crown last year, focuses on supporting girls’ education in her home district.
In her final remarks on the pageant, Karema expressed her gratitude to @missworld for the memorable experience, promising to continue her endeavors. She proudly acknowledged Uganda’s support, highlighting her achievements as ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ winner, First Runner-up Miss World Africa, and Top 8 @missworld.
