From Collection to Closet: An African City’s Esosa E in Eguana Kampala SS18

Who wore it better?

Renowned actor and film director Esosa Edosomwan was recently in Kampala on an invitation to perform her one-woman play The Woman Who Would Be King at the Kampala International Theater Festival. Esosa E is popularly known for her role as Ngozi in the hit web series An African City. During her trip here she slipped into a printed maxi dress from Eguana Kampala’s ‘Intensity’ collection presented at Kampala Fashion Week 2017 for a photo shoot.

She also met with famed designer Latif whose CNN feature had intrigued her.

“There are many reasons to visit Uganda, and the art and culture scene is top on my list. Before I left the U.S., I had seen an intriguing segment featured on CNN Africa about Latif, the Ugandan fashion designer who can make a dress in four minutes, and managed to get his contact before arriving. I visited his home which he fondly calls “Ras-Mas,” and was fitted for a custom-made jumpsuit I sketched while on the connecting flight from Amsterdam. ”
