Five fashion tips for the fabulously plus size

The most important thing about dressing right is that you should look slimmer and taller in whatever you choose to wear however with limited choices in fashion for plus size women; it can be a bit difficult to make garment choices. However size can never be an excuse to shabbiness or a poor sense of style, and because our job at SatisfashionUG is to make sure everyone is fabulous and happy, we got you five major tips to make this happen.

1. Dark colors hide while light colors highlight. Stick to bright colors! So If you want to make your waist look slimmer then you can pull it off by throwing on a light belt over a dark shirt or dress. if it’s your bottom half you want to hide, well, wear dark pants and a lighter top. For example, a sky blue top over black pants or a skirt. No one will notice or talk about your size.

2. Big patterns will make you look bigger, go for smaller patterns that will make you look smaller. if you are opting for animal prints, go for the thinner or smaller patterns. If you are going for a patched dress, choose one with small patches. The smaller the patches, the smaller you will appear.

3. If you are doing ruffles, (ruffles are stylish by the way) put them only on the places you want to emphasize and avoid them where you need to look smaller. If your tummy usually stands out, NEVER wear ruffles around your tummy otherwise the site will be something to talk about, and the talk won’t be that positive.

4. Keep away from tight clothes! Keep away from very big clothes! Stick to outfits that fit perfectly. This is because very tight clothes and oversize ones both make you look two, three or more sizes bigger and way older than you may actually be. And we don’t want this. Perfectly fitting clothes give a classy look, it’s the way to go.

5. Lastly never wear heavy make up as it makes you look “heavier”, funny but true! Go for light shades of lipstick, eye shadow and avoid a lot of eye liner. You can also opt for brown eye pencil instead of black.

After following all these steps, all you need is confidence and a fabulous attitude to match your fabulosity and you are good to go…your size won’t be an issue, your drop-dead fabulosity however will be.
