2020 has been littered with tumult! The ban on social gatherings has had a ripple effect on fashion, an industry that thrives on socialising. Fortunately for you fashion enthusiasts, you don’t have to cancel the year completely. The Fashion Revolution Movement is organizing a fabulous fashion show slated to hold virtually on December 6th, 2020.
The Fashion Revolution Movement is a platform that promotes fashion brands with the intention of supporting them in their quest to reach national and global stardom. This will be the second edition of the event, the first having been held on 7th December, 2019 at Ntinda Complex, under the theme ‘Talent with Expression’.
According to Vivianna Zoe-Girl, the President/founder of the movement, few platforms in Uganda support young up and coming designers. “We believe that through this movement, our platform will grant these designers local and international mileage as well as help them gain market share in the fashion and entertainment industry,” she says.
After last year’s showcase, Zoe-Girl and her team organised a successful brand launch for Duh-tah Fashions, who was later recognized among the top 40 youth under 40. “We don’t just offer designers a platform to show their designs, we move along with them through the journey, supporting them with training and visibility opportunities,” she explains.
Some of the designers set to show case this December include; Zoe-Girl Couture, Duh-Tah Fashions, JK plus size Fashions, Marcielah bridals, Jem’s haute couture, Mom and Doxa Fashions, Moriah, Ethereal Fashions and Munda creations and more big name designers who will be announced along the way.
The event will be held virtually, so everyone will have a front seat as they watch on The Fashion Revolution Movement’s social pages.
