Tv personality Faridah Nakazibwe shared a tutorial on
different tips on how to wear a traditional Gomesi on her Youtube Channel.
The Gomesi is a floor-length, coloured cloth dress with a square neckline, short, puffed sleeves, and two buttons on the left side of the neckline. The dress is tied with a sash placed below the waist over the hips.
In the video, Faridah wears a beautiful red detailed dress with silver decorations and a greyish sash below the waist with simple jewellery to complete the look for her friend’s ceremony.
Faridah captioned the visuals saying, “The gomesi or busuuti is the traditional wear for mainly Baganda women. It exudes respect and loyalty when worn smartly. However, not many people know how to put it on easily. Here is a brief video to guide you.”
