Ochom Eddie Louis, creative director of A.D Louis is a costume designer who makes fantasy costumes, you could say his creations are out of this world. He won an award for “Contemporary Leather Armour” at the Africa Design Showcase 2024.
“This award winning costume involved the creation of a contemporary leather armor designed specifically for women, inspired by medieval women’s way of dressing and armor. This craft is designed skillfully to be used in plays, music and dramas by performing artist providing an ancient aesthetic combined with modern fashion fusion of craftsmanship.
The goal was to showcase this design at the Real Leather Stay Different Competition 2024(@realleatherafrica), highlighting the fusion of historical inspiration with contemporary aesthetics.”
The contemporary reinterpretation of this medieval armor integrates the following modern elements:
