Ciara Stars in a New Campaign for Gap & LoveShackFancy, Niecy Nash-Betts Covers the Newest Issue of Netflix ‘Queue’ Magazine & Doja Cat to Headline Victoria Secret’s World Tour Plus More

Top fashion stories of the week

1. Gap x LoveShackFancy’s Just-Dropped a New Collab — Ciara’s Included

Ciara manifested her latest campaign with Gap x LoveShackFancy. When she was picking up her daughter, Sienna, from school, she got the call. Her son, Future, had already done a campaign with Gap years ago, when he was just three years old. “I was looking at my daughter and I said, ‘I really would love to have you in a Gap campaign,’” she tells us by phone. “The craziest thing about timing was that I was speaking it into the universe: I got the phone call.”

It’s the first time Ciara has ever done a fashion campaign with her kids, and the imagery, shot by Zoey Grossman, represents a celebration of the two brands coming together for one explosive collaboration. Think: an expansive limited-edition, a multi-category capsule collection of women’s, men’s, kids, and baby apparel and accessories, with the iconoclastic look of Gap tied up neatly with a proverbial huge, pink LoveShackFancy bow encompassing an ultra-feminine, flowery aesthetic. The 76-piece collection covers everything from classic denim to chunky sweatshirts.

2. Doja Cat will lead Victoria’s Secret’s The Tour ’23

The Tour, the new iteration of what was once the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show spectacle, will feature a headline performance by Grammy-winning star Doja Cat. The Tour, a feature-length film following creatives around the world as they conceptualize four mini fashion shows, will premiere on Prime Video on September 26. According to a media alert, Doja Cat will sing two recently-released songs in the documentary-style project. As previously reported, 20 individuals will appear in The Tour, which was shot across Bogota, Lagos, London, and Tokyo.

3. Taking Ownership Of Your Body Is Hot”: Supermodel Precious Lee Is The New Face Of Savage X Fenty

Though this represents her debut as a campaign star, Precious has been part of the Savage X Fenty family for a while now. In the past, the Atlanta-born model has participated in three of the lingerie brand’s star-studded shows, sharing the runway with notable names such as Rosalía, Erykah Badu and Cindy Crawford, just to name a few (not forgetting Rihanna herself). She was also announced as an official brand ambassador last year for the inaugural Savage X Fenty Sport launch. So, how does the Savage X Fenty brand resonate with Precious? She explains: “It’s about empowerment, taking ownership of your body and fearlessly expressing yourself no matter what – that’s hot.”

When it comes to the collection she’s fronting, titled Cotton Essentials, Precious appreciates both its sensuality and practicality. “I am totally obsessed with everything in the line-up – the pieces are so comfortable for everyday but still sexy,” she says. “I also love the new Haute Lace pieces I was shot in. Comfortable, but super sexy.”

4. Niecy Nash-Betts graces the cover of the newest issue of Netflix’s magazine, ‘Queue’

The 13th issue of Netflix’s hard-copy magazine, Queue, is now available and this time around, the cover model is DAHMER’s Niecy Nash-Betts.

With Ryan Murphy‘s DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story earning 13 Emmy nominations, Niecy describes the acclaimed serial killer series in which she played Cleveland as “a jarring reminder that some of the things and themes that we explore in this series still happen today.”

She adds, “Women are still not believed. Marginalized communities are still overpoliced and underserved. White privilege still runs rampant. So, it’s not a far reach to say, ‘Oh, I wonder what exploring this idea is about.’ No, you just got to wake up and look around.”
