Every time Karen Walker comes out with a new eyewear campaign we’re left wondering how she’s supposed to top it next season. Vampires, Pharaohs, toddlers and grandmas have all worn her signatures shades over the last couple of years. Next up? Kenyan artisans, who have crafted a series of screen-printed pouches that will accompany any eyewear purchase from the Spring 2014 collection.
The campaign, dubbed ‘Visible’, is the result of a partnership between the New Zealand-based designer and the United Nations’ ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative. The artisans behind the freebies then turned models for a series of striking images lensed by fellow Kiwi Derek Henderson. As Walker said to Style.com, “What I love about these portraits is that they take away the distance, both physical and emotional.”
