Apparently, Kim Jones Rescued Kim Kardashian From a Major Fashion Emergency at the WSJ Innovator Awards

Kim Kardashian has a lot to thank Kim Jones for, yes for Fendi × Skims, a collab with her shapewear brand, but also for his skills as a designer (read problem solver). Apparently, minutes before the reality TV star ascended to the stage to pick her WSJ Innovator of the Year award, she got a fashion emergency. 

In her acceptance speech, Kardashian, who wore a brown skintight leather dress and matching gloves to the event, revealed that Fendi’s artistic director and head of men’s at Dior, Kim Jones, saved her from a fashion emergency by fixing her outfit at their table before going on stage. The details of what the emergency was are scanty, however, from the draping on the bodice of her dress, you can see it needed some, if not a lot, of fixing every other time.

Kim Kardashian West received an award from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) Innovator awards at the Museum of Modern Art for Skims, her game-changing shapewear brand, which she founded in 2019. 

The mother-of-five’s dress was fresh off the racks of the Fendi x Skims collection, a collaboration between her shapewear brand and the Italian luxury house.

Kim expressed her enthusiasm for her own Skims shapewear line, as well as her passion for being the face of multiple, sometimes conflicting brands.

“I just remember 15 years ago when I was starting my career, I could never have dreamed that I would be getting an Innovator award for brands. I mean, back in the day I would’ve been the face of any brand if they would have asked me – cupcakes to weigh loss pills at the same time. I’m just so grateful that I have my own brand now. I would do all that then wear shape wear on top. It was all contradictory,” Kim said.
