As many parts of Uganda received a heavy downpour yesterday, two Ugandan stars were in Milan making a life-changing debut during one of the most buzzed about shows during fashion week. 18-year-old Adut Mary Chol and 21-year-old Ayen Emily made their international runway debut during Gucci’s Spring 2020 ready-to-wear show.
The Ugandan stars, who are both signed to Joram Model Management here in Uganda, quietly signed to MP Model Management in Milan before leaving for Milan.
Adut was discovered by Joram Muzira of Joram Model Management backstage during Bride & Groom in 2018. She later starred in Satisfashion UG’s December 2018 Fashion Collections issue.
Ayen was discovered during a model search done by JMM in collaboration with the Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards in March.
From Uganda to the world. This marks the start of an international career as fashion models for the youngsters. In June last year, another Ugandan star, Aketch Joy Winnie, made her debut during Gucci’s cruise show.
