As a lead up to the 2019 ASFAS, a model masterclass for the 60 models set to walk the runway at the event was held last Sunday at Kampala Serena Hotel, Katonga Hall. They received experts tips on how to to carve a career out of modeling, how to brand themselves and more. The masterclass was facilitated by renowned model coach Joram Muzira together with; Housen Mushema, a model turned actor, Gloria Haguma, a fashion journalist, Solomon Tazibone, an award winning stylist, Banji Bagwana, a designer and Giulio Molfese, a fashion photographer.
Priscilla Ray, who gained fame in the early 2000’s as one of the first supermodels in Kampala, also announced that she would be joining the 60 models to walk the runway during the event. Fresh off the runways in Milan, Adut Mary Chol and Ayen Emily also shared their experience making their big break during the GUCCI spring summer show.
Launched in 2013, Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards has grown into a very influential platform, not just for designers, but also for models. Models from as far as Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya and Nigeria travel to Kampala to land a spot on the runway. This year’s edition is slated to hold on Friday 13th December, 2019 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
