Love truly knows how to find its way, because it’s uncanny how Robert and Teddy, both astute business people, who share an insatiable love for the finer things in life, found themselves and fell in love. Teddy says she was at university while Robert had just started working when they met in 2006. The couple, who are notoriously private about the details, later got engaged during the launch of their wedding at Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala, before tying the knot on 12th June, 2021.
Teddy, who describes herself as a ‘perfectionist’ was deeply involved in the planning of her wedding reception, which was held half a year after they said their vows. “I was fully involved right from my Kukyala to the introduction and wedding. I love class and I made sure every function was outstanding,” she tells Satisfashion UG Weddings. “I paid Fenon Records to handle production. I sat with ICandy and we planned how each function would look. We made sure that all the functions were totally different.”
This is evident in the photos below, all three events oozed elegance and class, everything Teddy desired.

Colours
“For the wedding, I chose black, white and gold because they are rich colours and are a rarity at events,” she explains. “I wanted something totally different from everyone is doing.”
The gown
Teddy wore a stunning ball gown from Almodal, the renowned Manila-based couture brand. The gown, which screamed divine elegance with a touch of feminine royalty, featured an illusion of an off-the-shoulder neckline created by sheer, a pleated skirt and lots of other intricate detailing. “I chose the gown myself,” Teddy says. “I have been following Almodal for as long as I remember and I loved his gowns. I always prayed to God to enable me wear one of his gowns. It took me almost a year to choose the exact design I wanted. I kept changing the design until the designer made for me a sketch, which had almost every detail I loved.”
Teddy and the couturier decided to go with the chosen design. “The biggest challenge was the cost,” she recalls. “It was indeed expensive but since my wedding was first scheduled on 3.9.2020, and it didn’t happen because of the pandemic, I was able to buy my gown in instalments over almost a year.”
