A Heated Argument Brought Rita and Fredrick Together!

Meeting

We met at Fairway Hotel & Spa, where I work as a Night Duty Manager. She was a resident at the hotel. She and I had an argument; I needed her to follow proper check-in procedure which she was very hesitant to do. My surbodinate had not followed them while checking her in. Fortunately, after a while, she eventually heeded to my friendly persistence. During her one-week stay at the hotel, she had some other challenges which she would quickly pass to me. We talked a lot, and that’s how our communication began.

Engagement

It was New years of 2019 at a roof top with both our family’s and friends. When it clocked midnight I was screaming in excitement of the fireworks like everyone else. Only to turn to hug him but found him on one knee sweating as he proposed to me.

This totally got me off guard because it was a week after our return trip from Zanzibar. However, it came with a lot of challenges from the booking agents side. This brought emotions that we had both kept from each other. At one point I almost bundled up all the night staff at a hotel stopover in Tanzania, on our way back for a lash as they almost made us miss our bus back to Busia.

He forced the bus to stop, then grabbed the 2 bus drivers and their conductor by their neck ties, plus trousers off the bus to force them to wait for a lady who had delayed while getting her entry pass. I joined him to kick some ass. The whole bus joined us as well.

Planning the wedding

Whoever says it’s easy is a liar; we had everything planned out before we involved family and friends but the pandemic brought newer challenges on top of the usual. Although my husband’s experience in managing events like multiple weddings at the hotel made him be my superman whenever the stress kicked in!

Choosing their outfits

Hehehe let’s just say we both knew what we wanted. We tried to avoid each other’s opinion as much as possible since this delays the process but well, I had to have an opinion on his. You cannot avoid bumps as my dress was hand-made from Egypt but the process of it arriving in Kampala during the pandemic was almost impossible so we opted for a local outlet’s alternative in case the worst happened. Then boom, 2 days to the wedding, my dream gown arrived.
