Exclusive: Bettinah Tianah Launches BT Beauty Uganda, an Organic Beauty Line!

By  |

After tinkering with the idea for years, Bettinah Tianah has today launched ‘BT Beauty Uganda’, her own organic beauty line. “With a strong team that has worked tirelessly for over 14 months, we’re presenting to you the ‘right’ organic beauty  products at very pocket friendly prices,” Tianah shared in a press statement.

The idea was hatched after her experience with eczema. “I first got eczema when I was 13 years old. Since then I only use lukewarm water to shower. I don’t scrub with a sponge, I only use white cotton face towels as the dermatologist advised me,” she says. “Because I knew I couldn’t keep using chemical based creams that had been prescribed, I had to find something organic. I didn’t know what it was but I just had to find it.”

This immediately put her on a search for an alternative for the chemicals she was using. After several ‘not so great’ experiences with Shea butter from various distributors, she continued her quest, this time looking for a product that could give her results. Then she got the opportunity to be flown to Ghana by Queen Hamamat of HAMAMAT African beauty where she had the ultimate shea butter experience at the Shea butter museum in Accra.

“This was like the Internship I so much needed, I learnt how to make shea butter with my hands the ‘right way’. I learnt what good shea butter should ‘look, smell and feel like on the skin'”. It is during this trip when she had her light bulb moment. “I knew I had to have my own range of organic skin care products made out of God given natural resources that could help people with a similar skin condition like mine and others who want to have beautiful skin,” she continues.

BT Beauty Uganda ‘Shea body butter’ is rich in different kinds of fatty acids and vitamins such E, D and F. “It’s a unique composition which helps clear your skin of excess oil (sebum),” the TV star explains. “At the same time, it restores and locks moisture in the skin.” Tianah herself has used the product for sometime has only positive reviews. “I use it every morning before I head out to work, in the night as well, mostly around my eyes and forehead,” she says.

Other products include; BT Beauty Uganda ‘Shea black soap’, which is made from activated charcoal, BT Beauty Uganda ‘Shea body glow oil’, which penetrates quickly and is great for dry skin, and BT Beauty Uganda ‘Shea hair food oil’, which is a highly-nutritive vegetable oil that helps bring back moisture and suppleness to even the most dry and damaged hair.

All three products are priced fairly and can be ordered via the brand’s social media pages, email btbeautyuganda@gmail.com and whatsapp number +256701503382.

She says the products cater to needs of every African woman, “but mostly those who aren’t blessed with genetically good skin.” “I once saw a tweet saying “don’t take skincare tips from people who genetically have great skin” and it had over 10,000 likes and over 2,000 retweets at the time, that only meant  users co-signed that message. Indeed I did too.”
