Fashion Face-Off: Sheebah Vs. Olivia Culpo

By  |

Sheebah is a renowned Ugandan performer, while Olivia Culpo is an American model, beauty queen and actress. Culpo was Miss Universe 2012. The two fashionistas are unleashing their well manicured claws in a fashion face-off like no other. They both wore similar looks; Olivia Culpo at the 2016 CFDA awards and Sheebah at the launch of her Sheebah by Natna hairline early this year.

Our team dissects the looks in detail

Olivia Culpo

Morning Star: Olivia’s lack of accessories takes a lot away from this look. The thought of less being more didn’t work out, considering that the standout piece was the fringe skirt and it didn’t photograph prominently. I’m not crazy about her shoes either and the addition of that hair style reads more office cocktail than Award show.

Hassan: I love the simplicity with which Olivia wore her dress. It’s appropriate for the event, the CFDAs. I however, don’t think this was the right choice for a fashion awards event, the CFDAs to be exact.

Sheebah

Morning Star: The combination of fabrics on Sheebah’s blazer gives it more edge, and the belt cinched her waist in to give more prominence to the fringe skirt. I love the shoes but for me its the stoned tights that made all the difference; they turned this outfit into a pop princess look.

Hassan: Sheebah added drama to this even more dramatic look with; a belt, stoned tights, strappy boots and wavy hair. She’s a performer, so this sits well in her comfort zone. She was also launching her hairline, it was important that she stands out. And, indeed she did.

Morning Star’s winner: Based on proper accessorizing, I pick Sheebah as the winner of this Face off.

Hassan’s winner: It’s not easy to beat a beauty queen, a Miss Universe for that matter, but Sheebah takes this hands down.
