5 Things You Need To Know About The Third Edition of Kampala Fashion Week

| Kampala Fashion Week 2016 is upon us! Arguably the most influential fashion platform in Uganda, where buyers and fashion media from across the world descend upon Kampala to witness. The week is aimed at strengthening, promoting and developing Uganda’s fashion by fostering talent, originality, and representation locally and abroad.
According to a press release, these are 5 things you need to know about this year’s edition which will be held next weekend.
- The event will run from the 20th to 22nd October 2016 at The Square, 3rd Street, Industrial area, opposite Umeme.
- During the fashion week, there will be a KFW POP-UP Shop edition from the 21st – 22nd October (2pm to 8pm). The audience can buy and view fashionable goods made by local designers.
- The primary lineup for designers this year, that will be showcasing their 2017 Spring/Summer collections include Gloria Wavamunno, Catherine & Sons, Bobbin Seif, Halisi, Lukwanzi, With Love From Africa, KONA, Jose Hendo, Isabella Isabeau, Morine Designers, Maison Mimi, KKOOLO, NFKA CLOTHING and Turah.
- The Winner of The 2015 Seed Show which is hosted by the US Mission & Kas Wear Olivia Nanfuka creative director of NKFA Clothing will open the week.
- Kampala Fashion Week 2016 is sponsored by LDJ Productions, US Embassy, Silk Events, Uganda Waragi, Spear Motors, Wavah Water and many more.
