10 Things To Know About This Year’s Abryanz Style & Fashion Awards

If you don’t live under a rock, you already know that the 2016 edition of Abryanz Style and fashion Awards launched last evening at Serena Hotel Kampala. The list of nominees, which is really long was unveiled as well, and social media is on fire. Just so you know, our own creative director Hassan Ssentongo was nominated in the Best Blogger/writer category.

We were at the launch and compiled some of the things you need to know about the awards this year. Of course apart from voting for Hassan when the voting lines open officially.

1. The awards are still aimed at giving Ugandan and African creative (designers, stylists, makeup artists, models and celebrities) a platform to showcase their creativity.
2. This year’s theme is ‘Dress to Inspire’.
3. The awards have gone continental. The new categories cater to all fashion people from across Africa.
4. Designers from across the continent are set to showcase on the day.
5. The event will be graced by Africa’s best artistes and performers.
6. The event has greatly impacted the fashion spectacle in Kampala. Red Carpet appearances have really improved. So expect the best on this year’s red carpet.
7. The event’s team is yeat to announce when voting lines open officially.
8. This year’s sponsors include Ciroc Uganda, NTV, Capital FM and Serena Hotel.
9. According to the event’s publicist, every nominee is an icon. We can’t deny that one bit.
10. The event is scheduled for 9^th December at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
