10 stars we are watching this year

Here is a list of 16 people, Ugandans should watch out for this year. It is not too late to shine some light on these young people who are giving us lashings of fresh blood. This new pool of emerging talent is arguably going to take this year by storm. 2016 is playing favorite for some of them already.

1. MC Talha

With a TV show, a slew of corporate endorsements and a celebrity status under his belt, MC Talha is already a threat to many people in the entertainment industry. Will he be maturing into a full blown event host and TV star to appeal to a mature audience this year? We are watching closely.

2. Canary Mugume

Canary has the kind of career that defies genre. He’s a model, TV host and fashion blogger; and he’s always documenting his super modern career on social media. We want to see what else, he’ll be adding onto his already enviable resume. Check out his fashion blog fashionrepublique.net.

3. Kabs Haloha

Red carpet fashion is a huge deal in Kampala lately thanks to this always dapper gentleman, Kabs Haloha. With one question “Who are you wearing?”, his TV show is already airing in Rwanda and Nigeria. Will he finally take his question beyond just Kigali, Kampala and Nigeria? We are watching.

4. Winnie Nwagi
Winnie Nwagi popped out of nowhere last year and ruled the airwaves. Oh no, she actually didn’t just pop from nowhere! She was one of the finalists of Cocacola Rated Next season two. The starlet is not just a pretty face like many of the singers on the scene, and her music is enough evidence. Will she soar as high as her fellow Swangz Avenue singer Irene Ntale?

5. Karen of Chocolaty prints

7. Raphael Kasule

After emerging Fashion Designer of the year at last year’s ASFAs, Raphael is ready to compete with the rest of the world. Will he finally get to the enviable roster of Kampala Fashion Week? We are watching.

8. Sitenda

The Tusker Project Fame 6 alum has taken her time since the show to hone her craft. Her sound is unique and fresh, everything we look for in a singer of our time. She will be releasing her highly anticipated EP this year.

9. Bruno K

With covers of songs by everyone from Radio & Weasel to Sheeba and Adele, Bruno already has his preamble of a long phenomenal career. Will he finally put out an album this year? Over to you Bruno.

10. Leah Kalanguka

The former beauty queen is now a bonafide fashion model signed to Joram Model Management (read Patrica Akello and Aamito). And, the future is already bright.
